Group Playoffs – New Format

The Group 4 Districts (Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast), Men and Ladies, have agreed to change the format of future Playoffs from 2023.

All Group 4 Playoffs will change from a round-robin format to a knockout format which would reduce the games required in a day from three to two. A random draw will be performed to determine the District which received a Bye in the first game. Game 1 would be between the other two Districts. Game 2 would be between the winner of Game 1 and the District which received the Bye. The winner of this second game to represent Group 4 in the State finals. A random draw for the Bye would be required in each discipline.

2024 Group-4 Playoffs

A random draw for the Byes for the 2024 competitions was completed on 27 August 2023.

The Districts receiving Byes in 2024 are,

  • Singles (Men and Ladies) – Moreton Bay (Host is Moreton Bay)
  • Pairs (Men and Ladies) – Brisbane (Host is Moreton Bay)
  • Fours (Men and Ladies) – Moreton Bay (Host is Moreton Bay)
  • 8-A-Side – Moreton Bay (Host is Moreton Bay)
  • Mixed Pairs – Brisbane (Host is Moreton Bay)
  • Division 1 Pennant – Moreton Bay (Host is Sunshine Coast)

2023 Group-4 Playoffs

A random draw for the Byes for the 2023 competitions was completed at Club Pine Rivers on Wednesday 5th October 2022. The Districts receiving Byes in 2023 are,

  • Singles (Men and Ladies) – Brisbane
  • Pairs (Men and Ladies) – Sunshine Coast
  • Fours (Men and Ladies) – Sunshine Coast
  • 8-A-Side – Brisbane
  • Mixed Pairs – Sunshine Coast
  • Division 1 Pennant – Sunshine Coast
