Sunshine Coast Challenge

An Inter-District challenge will be held each year between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.  It will involve separate Men and Ladies Sides and is to be used as trials for selections for the State District Sides.  The host district for the inaugural year (2023) will be Brisbane.  There will be two matches, one in the morning starting  and one after lunch finishing around 3pm.

2024 SC&B Challenge (Cancelled due to clash with Premier League Finals)

The Sunshine Coast has suggested a different format for 2024.

TEAMS – Teams will consist of:

  • Ladies Open                     3 x teams of 4s = 12 players
  • Ladies Over 60s                3 x teams of 4s = 12 players
  • Men’s Open                      4 x teams of 4s = 16 players
  • Men’s Over 60s                 4 x teams of 4s = 16 players

FORMAT:

  • 2 games of 18 Ends with a 2 hour 30 minutes time limit
  • Dead ends will be replayed

TIMES:

  • Trial Ends x 2 45am
  • Game 1                9.00am – 11.30am
  • Lunch                   11.30am – 12.30pm
  • Game 2                12.30pm – 3.00pm

WINNER:

  • Mens and Ladies Overall Combined Shots on the day.
  • No trophy required.
  • In the event of a tie, the team with the greater number of ends overall shall be the winner.

HOT WEATHER: Refer to BQ Weather Policy

INCLEMENT WEATHER:  A combined (Men & Women) completion of a minimum of 50% of overall ends (252) on the day will constitute a game.

2023 SC&B Challenge

Format: The men’s event will comprise 6 teams of Fours.  The ladies format is also 6 teams of Fours.
